The new division and website, established by Michigan-based Hospitality Selling Solutions (HSS), has a goal of expanding membership for non-profit associations, according to Shari Pash Berger, owner and founder of HSS.
Berger helps non-profit organizations look for ways to grow membership and find new members or retain a higher percentage of membership. “We create customized recruitment and retention plans including a monthly tactical plan,” she says. Berger brings over 30 years of sales and experience in which she has developed strategies and implemented tools that will help meet goals and increase membership revenue.
“I have created a formula that will significantly improve a non profit association’s membership recruitment and retention,” Berger states. In rolling out her training program, Berger’s first focus is on the membership team. “I determine whether the training will begin with new solutions or with fine tuning existing ones. These strategic tools will help to redevelop an individual or team which is the first step towards increased revenue and improved membership numbers.”
Hospitality Selling Solutions mission is to meet the needs of membership teams looking to meet new goals and achieve growth. Berger states, “Through my hands-on approach, tailored training, coaching, and consulting, I will bring your membership team relevant tools that will assist you in achieving your growth goals.”
Since launching Hospitality Selling Solutions in 2011, Berger has worked with a diverse group of hospitality and association clients throughout Michigan, Georgia, and North Carolina.

The new non-profit association division is an expansion of Hospitality Selling Solutions into an area that will complement HSS services already offered to Hotels, Conference Centers and DMOs (Destination Marketing Organizations). HSS services to non-profit associations include: personalized training and coaching; recruitment and retention plan development; membership sales team development; specific membership sales tools; production and management reports and membership operation assessments.
