Connect Space, formerly known as Message Blocks, was developed by Len Gauger. Gauger spent years in the hospitality industry trying to find a single integrated software solution that could solve the gamut of meeting, convention and special event needs. “I’d find a great software program that handled registration, but couldn’t track meeting agendas or timesheets,” Gauger explained. “Then, I’d find another program that could do timesheets and payments, but it couldn’t produce agendas or handle registration and none of the systems I worked with allowed attendees to effectively connect with the event or one another. So, I came up with my own system that does everything seamlessly. Users can just pick and choose what they’d like to use, and many use the entire platform.”

Michigan Realtors, an association of more than 30,000 members, has been using Connect Space for more than four years. “We plan numerous events a year that are a major undertaking and Connect Space has allowed us to streamline everything and save hundreds of labor hours,” stated Jodie Cady, director of events for Michigan Realtors. “Tracking our members Continuing Education Credits is critical for us and this platform allows us to do that seamlessly with excellent reporting. We even use the live streaming feature for our annual convention and have significantly increased our member engagement.”

Connect Space’s livestreaming feature with high definition and no downtime or buffering has been a popular aspect about the platform. In addition, Gauger added, “another great thing about Connect Space is that it also provides in-depth data and analytics to the organization. Meaning that a large company using it can see how many meaningful leads its salespeople were able to make, while also being completely operable on a mobile platform.”

It’s no secret that Connect Space has been able to reach businesses of all kinds. In addition to Michigan Realtors, Bob Thomas, director of the Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals has used Connect Space at events and states that he “can’t say enough great things about the product. The ability to process payments and allow members to network with one product is hugely efficient and convenient.”

From philanthropy workshops to glow-in-the-dark yoga, planners are moving to more meaningful ways to interact.
