Eat, Drink & Be Merry in Detroit Dining & Drinking Establishments

Detroit is being heralded as a food mecca, a city bursting with countless new and creative places to eat, drink and socialize.

New bars and restaurants have opened all around the Motor City in the past couple years, from an eatery with the gooiest macaroni and cheese around to a spot that gives you the feeling of entering a spaceship. And many of the new spots offer distinctive opportunities for group dining.

The following are a dozen of these places, some of the city’s up-and-coming hot spots and newest places to eat, drink and just hang out.

Vibrant Asbury Park Hotel Will Stun Guests

The dynamic city of Asbury Park, N. J., is set to open a new hotel in spring 2016—the first opening in the area in more than 50 years.

The Asbury, a product of the real-estate company iStar, combines the Victorian-era history of the era with its vibrant social culture.

The project is a collaboration between David Bowd, known for creating the Salt Hotels brand, and Anda Andrei, iStar’s creative lead for the Asbury Park redevelopment project and the former design director for the Ian Schrager Company.

HHRVB Debuts Parody Ad Campaign

The Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors Bureau recently jazzed up its advertising campaign for the fall season with a name of “That’s a Fact,” which showcases the area’s top autumn assets in a fun, creative way.

Winter Is in the Air

All planners know the importance of looking ahead—the earlier the details fall into place, the less stress one has to deal with as the event nears.

A smattering of event venues have started holding receptions decorated for holiday parties to give planners an idea of what a holiday event would look like there and to have soirees booked far in advance. We know Christmas in July sounds crazy, but it really is a planner’s dream. With all the heat and sunshine, winter feels light-years away.
