The Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau honored more than 200 hospitality workers and volunteers at its 21st Annual Recognition of Service Excellence (ROSE) Awards on September 23 at the Detroit Opera House. WXYZ’s Glenda Lewis served as mistress of ceremonies, while the Rodney Lamar Page Band, Kurt J and Evelyn Renee provided entertainment.

Sun-drenched views of the Detroit River, fun entertainment and great camaraderie contributed to an exciting event packed with award presentations during the Michigan Meetings + Events magazine Best of 2018 readers’ choice awards.

Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE) suppliers, members and friends started their day on Nov. 17 at the Marriott East Lansing at University Place for the Association Choice Awards Celebration (see page 56) networking brunch. Sixty-eight supplier partners that make a difference in the association community were nominated in 23 categories. Online voting by only MSAE members whittled the finalists in each category down to the winners.
