Robert Lowe Jr. was recently appointed as a new advisory board member of Arbor Lodging, a hotel investment and management company. Lowe is the current Co-CEO of Lowe, a leading national real estate investment, development and management firm.

As the latest addition to the advisory board of one of the nation's fastest growing hotel companies, which recently expanded under a $135-million portfolio acquisition in five new markets, Lowe is bringing with him experience with more than $8.5 billion of commercial, hospitality and residential assets, as well as more than $3 billion in commercial real estate projects in the pipeline or under development.

“We are delighted to have someone with Rob’s extensive experience join us, says Vamsi Bonthala, Chief Executive Officer of Arbor Lodging Partners, the investment arm of Arbor Lodging. “His years of knowledge and involvement with commercial, hospitality and residential assets will be sure to help Arbor Lodging grow and further establish our positioning as a leading national player in the hospitality industry. We relish the opportunity to add such an influential member to our advisory board and look forward to adding additional industry leaders.”

Arbor Lodging’s fully integrated hotel investment and hotel management platform now owns 25 full-service and select service hotels throughout the United States. The portfolio consists of a range of hotels under brands such as Curio Collection by Hilton, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn, Residence Inn, Homewood Suites and more.

Pinnacle Venue Services has named Dezarae Anderson as the General Manager of the Birch Run Expo Center. This will be a promotion for Anderson, as she previously worked as the Sales, Marketing & Event Manager at the Expo Center.

Cruise around greater Detroit and you’ll see plenty of promotion — from metro airport wall displays to highway billboards — spotlighting Motown as America’s greatest comeback city.

And, fortunately for meeting and event planners, the metro area’s tourism website also has evolved during these many years of economic rebirth and marketplace rebranding.

So it was good to see the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau staff all smiles this week after Skift named the visitdetroit.com website as one of the 25 best tourism board websites in the world for 2017.

Robert Snyders, who retired in late March 2017, served for 20 years as the National Sales Director for Experience Grand Rapids.

“Bob has been an integral part of the sales team at Experience Grand Rapids,” says Tom Bennett, vice president of sales and services of Experience Grand Rapids.
