With a range of tour options, the gardens are yours to explore.

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is open year-round, but now that the thermostat is nudging north, it’s a perfect time to take in its breathtaking grounds and outdoor art.

The park, ranked among the top 100 most-visited art museums in the world by Art Newspaper, offers self-guided tours along with docent-led tours of both the indoors and outdoors (outdoor tours take place aboard a tram).

Group tours, which typically last 45 minutes, should be booked anywhere from one week to three months in advance, depending on group size and the time of the year. The park can accommodate 10 to 60 people per tour. Tours can be customized, though they require advanced notice of at least one month.

The most popular option is the indoor guided tour, which includes a walking tour of the indoor conservatories and an in-depth look at pieces of sculpture in the 200-work permanent collection.

When your group needs a break, the 158-acre gardens offer several on-site restaurants, as well as concerts in the outdoor amphitheater garden from June to August.

The time is right; the stage is set. Groups are ready to meet face to face again, and the four-star luxury hotel MGM Grand Detroit is ready to welcome you back.

According to MPI’s report “Spring 2021 Meetings Outlook,” three-quarters of meeting professionals predict a face-to-face event this calendar year. And that definitely rings true for Lisa Williams, executive director of sales for the hotel.

“Beer City USA” mixes business and pleasure at meeting venues large and small.

Headquarters to more than 130 international companies—including such global giants as Amway, Steelcase and Herman Miller—and home to Gerald R. Ford International Airport, Michigan’s second largest city, Grand Rapids, ranks as a natural destination for corporate gatherings. What’s more, the city’s reputation as a center for fine and performing arts, outdoor recreation and craft beer lures plenty of leisure travelers as well.
