What's the first word that comes to mind when you think of Traverse City? Beautiful. Fun. Adventure. Perfect? That last one might seem hard to attain, but when it comes to a destination for meetings, Traverse City is second to none. It really has it all—world-class conference facilities, outdoor activities to connect your attendees, farm-to-table cuisine and breweries and wineries to tempt every palate.
Well, another fantastic Best of Michigan Awards party has come and gone. Every year, I think we’ve topped ourselves, though, really, each year’s celebration is wonderful in its unique way.
This year we took the party to Traverse City, a much-needed visit by the magazine’s readers and supporters to the region that has done so much to lure tourism to Michigan. The local meeting and events industry folks bent over backwards to make the experience exceptional. We spread out over two venues—the City Opera House and the Hotel Indigo—and enjoyed wonderful hospitality wherever we were.
The Spiced Maple Manhattan hails from Traverse City’s new Hotel Indigo. Make it at home yourself or sample it this spring at the Indigo rooftop gathering following our 12th annual Best of Michigan readers’ choice awards.

Hotel Indigo Denver is set to open in Denver’s Union Station neighborhood in mid-January of 2017. It will be located at 1801 Wewatta Street and will have 180 guest rooms and 1,188 square feet of meeting and event space.
