• Team Lansing Foundation Announces 2017 Board

The Greater Lansing Conention and Visitors Bureau has announced the 2017 Greater Lansing Team Lansing Foundation Board of Directors:

Thomas M. Collins will serve as Chairman, from Traverse City Leasing, Inc. Barry Freed will serve as Vice-Chairman, from Art Craft Display, Inc. Bonnie Knutson will serve as the Secretary/Treasurer, from Michigan State University. Jack Schripsema will serve as Executive Director, from Greater Lansing CVB. Mayor Virg Bernero will serve as Director, from the City of Lansing. Paula Cunningham will serve as Director, from AARP Michigan. Pat Gillespie will serve as Director, from Gillespie Group.

After 36 years as director of the CVB, Peter Fitzsimons is retiring. By Shelley Levitt

In 1985, Peter Fitzsimons, a former hotel general manager, became the executive director of the newly formed Petoskey Area Visitors Bureau. He never left. In June, the 73-year-old Detroit native announced that he’d be stepping down from the role at the end of the year. 

MIM+E: When did you begin your career in hospitality?

 

For the last six decades, Stafford’s Hospitality has provided waterfront dining and historic lodging throughout Northern Michigan. Now Stafford’s is entering a new chapter with the retirement of both Stafford Smith, the company’s founder, and Dudley Marvin, Stafford’s longtime business partner and former president of the company.
